Erin Badman - Available Monday

Brief History -

Hello, I'm Erin and I have been singing professionally for 6 years as a contemporary and jazz vocalist and teaching singing for 2 years. I have worked with some of Australia's top vocal trainers, learning the SLS (speech level singing) method developed by Seth Riggs.

At the moment I am a member of various jazz trio's, funk/latin groups and Soul and pop duo's with musicians that I have met on the scene and with both lecturers and students alike through studying my bachelor of music, majoring in Jazz vocals at the Australian Institute of Music Sydney.
I love helping others to find their sound and style and develope it in a fun and encouraging way.

Teaching Philosophy -

Every one has a different sound that needs to be developed and addressed in different ways. It's not about how loud or how high you can sing, but rather, the quality of your vocals, such as smooth transitioning from chest voice to head, vocal agility and the overall development of your natural tone, which is the personality of your voice.

My passion is to bring out the personality in my student's voice, to help them understand and love what they are singing, and to grow in which ever style or genre they choose. My students can achieve all this with chord closure and correct pitch, using scale and arpeggio based exercises, in conjunction with breath control and phrasing properly in the context of a song.
