Zoe Streatfield - Available Friday
Brief History -

Hi! I’m Zoe Streatfeild and I have been studyng flute for 10 years. I completed my 8th grade AMEB exam in 2009 and am currently working towards my A.Mus diploma. I have a love and passion for music and want to share this with as many people as possible. I am now heading for a career in music education, and I hope to be accepted at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to study a Bachelor of Music majoring in Music Education.

My Educational Philosophy -

I like to make my lessons as enjoyable and educational as possible, and make my students aware that playing music is more than just notes on a page. I like to pass on both the history and the style of the piece being played, to ensure they can capture the true emotion of the piece as well as having a musical understanding and appreciation of it. Lastly, I believe that having a strong understanding of the fundamentals is vital in order to make music sing.

My Musical Interests-

I enjoy almost any style of music, but particularly flute music, of course. Growing up playing a lot of baroque and classical music, I have grown to enjoy listening and playing a lot of Handel and Mozart, but more recently I’ve started to enjoy a lot of contemporary flute music by such composers as Ian Clarke and Ross Edwards.

Styles Of Music Taught -

I feel most comfortable teaching music from Baroque – 20th century, to students at a beginner to intermediate level, but am willing to teach almost any style.
