Brief History -

Hi, I'm Mike Richards and I've been a professional drummer and teacher for many years based in the UK and Australia. I play all styles of music and have played and recorded with The Whitlams , Cactus Child, Chris Abrahams, Col Nolan, Bob Coasin, among others. I have had endorsement relationships with Premier, Tama, Sleishman and headlined my own clinics for Sabian cymbals. I have also performed drum clinics with Virgil Donati, Dom Famularo, etc.

I have also written my own drum book, "Advanced drum ideas", (Drum Licks Publications, 2000) and excerpts of this book have been printed in "Modern Drummer Magazine". I enjoyed ARIA award success playing with the Whitlams in their Eternal Nightcap album.

I am also the first AMEB CPM examiner in NSW. I continue to play sessions and particularly enjoys playing Jazz. I can be seen on The 2003 Ultimate Drummers Day 10th Anniversary DVD with the band Raw Jazz.
