Brief History -

Hi, I’m Mike Hague and I’ve been playing Drums/Percussion and teaching for many years. Some of my career highlights are:-
Drummer for Chuck Berry, UK/Europe
Drummer for the TCB Band (Elvis Presley’s Band) filling in for the legendary Ronnie Tutt
Supporting the Rolling Stones in Hong Kong
A stint in Las Vegas performing with The Jordenaires at the Stardust Casino
Have also backed countless well known Australian artists in the Pop, Rock, Country music etc.

Teaching Philosophy -

My teaching philosophy is based on technique and building a solid foundation! My aim ( while making this fun) is to allow you to reach your full potential, regardless of the drumming style you may lean to. With my many years of live performance and variety of styles, this will give you, the student, a distinct advantage of knowing what to play in a song i.e what fits, what doesn’t, and sometimes to adopt the “less is best” policy? My aim is to give my students sound, professional guidance and build confidence and express themselves.

My Musical Interests -

My Music taste cover alot of different styles from Rock, pop, Jazz, Funk, Latin music just to name a few.
Some bands/Artists that I enjoy listening to are: The Beatles, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Tower of Power, Buddy Rich, Michael Jackson .... There are so many more i could go on for days!

Styles of Music Taught -

Some drummers that I think every young drummer should pay some attention to are: Buddy Rich, Dave Weckl, Keith Carlock, John Bonham, Teddy Campbell, Jo Jo Mayer and Vinnie Colaiutao.
